The Gordons

Review Order 1950

Throughout most of the war the Gordons had worn battledress trousers and had little opportunity to dress in review order, but this parade to celebrate the King's birthday in Berlin was an occasion to bring out the kilt and sporran. The battledress top, however, was never a smart garment, especially with the collar fastened at the neck as it is here. And khaki hose with ankle puttees were worn instead of the red and black checked hose.
