The Gordons

Colour Party 1974

The 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders served in Singapore from November 1973 to December 1975. Their Colours are carried by two junior officers and escorted by a Warrant Officer and two Colour sergeants. By this time the small white sporrans have been replaced by the old style goat-hair type. The blue Tam o'Shanters have gone and the glengarries have returned, but now are worn straight instead of tilted to the right. The officers have Sam Browne belts and the WO has a black leather or plastic belt with a rectangular clasp. The Colour sergeant behind him does not have a visible waist-belt clasp.
