The rank and file of the Gordon Highlanders wore the white goathair sporran with black tassels emerging from brass cones. The cantle was brass bound black patent leather with a brass shield in the middle. The shield bore the stag's head, coronet and scroll. It was attached to the waist with thin white leather straps.
