Bugler and Bandsmen, 1898


The 1st Battalion were stationed in Hong Kong in 1898 and these men wear the foreign service white helmet and light khaki drills. Their red chevrons are pinned on so that they can be detached to wash the garments, The bandsmen have good conduct stripes and wear bandsmen's white leather shoulder belts with large white pouches on the back to carry music sheets.
