Bandsman, 1898

This trombone-player has the scarlet full dress tunic with bandsman's wings on the shoulder and infantry band lyre badge. He has a blue field service cap which had recently replaced the glengarry as undress headgear. His bandsman's white leather shoulder belt has a white pouch at the back in which the sheet music was kept.
