Sergeants 1914

These sergeants in walking out dress show the NCO's arm badge which, despite authorisation in 1910, was not worn until 1913. It is silver and the same size as the collar badge. The rank chevrons are gold lace on scarlet cloth. The photo, a detail from a group of B Squadron, was taken at Aldershot in June 1914, one of the last occasions when dress uniform was worn before World War One.
