Drumhorse Undress c1898

The same dappled palamino horse that appeared in full dress is seen in this photo without the drum banners and shabraque. The drums have the regimental badge painted on. The drummer wears the scarlet undress frock with white collar patches and steel shoulder chains. He has two good conduct stripes on his forearm. The blue cap is the musicians' special pattern pillbox cap with the white braid between the crown and the white cap-band. Again the stirrup reins are visible.
