Map of Preston 1715

This contemporary map details the position of the various units around Preston and the buildings that were burned.The Queen's Bays were called Pitt's Horse at the time and can be seen guarding the river on Sunday night 13th Nov. Colonel Thomas Pitt established his quarters at a house on the left side of the map. 'Win's Horse' refers to the future 9th Lancers who were raised in 1715 by Owen Wynne.
