| This photo is an inset in a group photo of men of the Queen's Bays Royal Tournament medal winners in 1936. He is labelled as the late Lieutenant and Quartermaster W Durham MBE MM, Bronze Medallist 1928, 1929, 1933 and 1935. As the photo is dated 1936 and he is 'the late' he must have died in late 1935 or early 1936. The London Gazette of 3 June 1930 and the Edinburgh Gazette of 6 June 1930 lists WO2 Squadron Sergeant-Major William Durham MM of the Queen's Bays as receiving the MBE. |
