Private William Clarke

Private William Clarke wrote his memoirs but the dates must not be taken as reliable. His recollection of the death Captain F A Single MC is dated 1 June 1915, but Captain F A Single actually was killed on 30 Mar 1918. William Clarke was in the 3rd Troop, B Squadron, Queen's Bays. ''When we withdrew from this position I remember we were billeted at Cappy.' This was the last of the recollections of "Nobby" Clarke, ex-Trooper, The Queen's Bays. He died on 21 November 1986 aged almost 91. A selection of his memoirs can be read at: http://www.qdg.org.uk/diaries.php?dy=40
