X Beach, Gallipoli

The beach where the Royal Fusiliers landed for the Gallipoli Campaign was in a small bay on Cape Helles. This picture of the stores and guns being landed on the beach in the days following the troop landings gives an idea of the work carried out by the Service Corps. The Royal Navy ships can be seen on the horizon. A track can be seen going up the cliff which may well have been made by the men to transport the supplies to the trenches.
