Lieutenant The Hon. R F Carnegie

Lt Carnegie commanded the 32 men of the Mounted Infantry detachment of the 2nd Battalion Gordon Highlanders in 1896. This photo was published in the Navy and Army Illustrated and is a detail from a group that included the officers in charge of the four Highland regimental detachments. He wears a blue patrol jacket, trews of regimental tartan, and a glengarry. The detachment went to Matabeleland in 1896.
