The Gordons

King's Colour, 2nd Battalion c1920

By order of 1844 the Queen's Colour was to have no battle honours displayed, but after World War I there were so many honours conferred but so little space to display them on the Regimental Colour. In 1919 each regiment was permitted to bear ten of the honours on the King's Colour. After World War II a further ten honours were added.
