| It is doubtful that the Gordon Highlanders would have march in such close order, they are probably crowded together for the photo. The leader seems to be the CO Lieut-Col Mathias, wearing breeches and puttees instead of a kilt. The man behind him appears to carry a flag so is probably a signaller. The CO does not have a sword but one of the officers next to him has his claymore and is wearing an overcoat as are some of the other men. |
