Corps of Drums, Gibraltar 1899

In full dress the Corps of Drums of the 2nd Battalion in Gibraltar wear the white foreign service helmet with the chin-chain draped across the front and hooked up on the right side. They have a pagri badge fixed to the front which is not apparent in the photo of the drummers in undress frocks. The drum-major carries a short staff in place of the taller mace, and does not have the embroidered sash on his left shoulder. The drummer on the right of the photo is carrying a tenor drum.
