The Northumberland Fusiliers

Drummer c1910

After 1899 the uniform facings reverted to the gosling green colour favoured by the old 5th Foot. The shape of the cuff also changed from jam-pot to pointed. The edge of the cuff is traced with red and white piping. The fur cap has the badge of the regiment on the front and the red over white plume on the left side. The green string on his shoulder holds the bugle. The wide white leather drum carriage is well decorated with a brass belt-plate that has a flaming grenade badge. The grenade has the central ancient badge but surrounded by a laurel wreath and battle honours. The brass tip and slide can be seen below the belt-plate.
