Richard Lionel Arthur Pennington


Pennington commanded the 2nd battalion from January 1898. He is seen here with sergeants of the battalion on St Georges's day, 23rd April 1898. Red and white roses decorate his field service cap. He wears a scarlet dress tunic, which has white facings and lavish gold lace and braid on the sleeve. The medals are for the Afghan War and the Indian General Service medal with a bar for the Hazara Expedition.
