Nawagai Camp



A painting by Major Hobday RA of the attack by tribesmen on the 3rd Brigade camp at Nawagai on the night of the 19th-20th Sept 1897. The original painting hangs in the officer's mess of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment. The star-shells fired by the Mountain Battery lit up the whole area.
