1st Battalion Queen's Colours c1960

By the time that Queen Elizabeth came to the throne there was only one battalion of the Royal Scots as the 2nd Battalion had been absorbed into the 1st in 1949. But this Queen's Colour has the crown of Queen Elizabeth II and the numeral I in the upper canton. The number 1 is there because they are 1st Royal Scots and as a reminder that the regiment has always been the 1st regiment of the line.

There are 20 battle honours for the two World Wars, 10 World War 1 honours on the left and 10 World War 2 honours on the right. The Regimental Colour would have all the battle honours gained before and after the two World Wars.
