Private, Drill Order c1865

For most of the time that was spent training and drilling, the Earl of Chester’s Yeomanry was in stable dress. This undress uniform was almost entirely blue apart from the red collar. There was white worsted lace edging around the collar and on the cuffs. There was also white twisted cord on the shoulders. The blue trousers had double white stripes down the outside. The pill-box forage cap was blue with a white cap-band. He has the white patent leather pouch-belt that hangs quite loosely at this time, supporting a black leather ammunition pouch.
