Sabretache Badge 1819 - 1825


Silver badge of The 2nd Prince Regent’s Cheshire Yeomanry which had a short life as the ornament on the officers’ undress sabretache and also the undress pouch. The badge has the monogram PRCY in the middle of a laurel wreath with 2 above and the Prince of Wales plume at the top (one feather missing). The Cheshire Yeomanry was titled Prince Regent’s from 1814 but the 2nd regiment was formed in 1819 when the disbanded Western Cheshire Yeomanry was re-constituted.
