David Eric Williams MBE TD


Lieutenant-Colonel D E Williams commanded the Cheshire Yeomanry during World War Two. In this photo he is the officer seated in the middle smoking a pipe, with Lieutenant-Colonel W G Cannon on the right of the photo and the Adjutant of the Cheshire Yeomanry on the left. The photo was taken at Affula, Palestine in 1941 before the advance into Syria. The Army List of January 1937 lists D E Williams MBE as the senior major of the Cheshire Yeomanry having attained his majority on 8 May 1930.
