| Privates Curtis and Morton at first tried to make a seat out of their rifles for Colonel Harris to sit on but abandoned the idea, using their joined hands as a seat instead. Colonel Harris had nine bullet wounds, received whilst lying down. There are no records that any wounds were sustained by this very easy target of two men walking away with the wounded commanding officer. |
