Field Force in the Sudan

Sir Gerald Graham’s Field Force kept watch on the movements of Osman Digna’s tribesmen and prevented them from coming too near to Suakin or disrupting the building of a railway from Berber to the port. These infantrymen wearing khaki drill uniforms keep a low profile while patrolling the countryside near Tamai, Osman’s headquarters.
