Middlesex Duke of Cambridge’s Hussars, Yeomanry Cavalry

Uxbridge Troop Private 1797 - 1802

The uniform of the first incarnation of the Middlesex Yeomanry followed the light dragoon pattern. The jacket was a blue shell jacket with white collar and cuffs. It had gold metal buttons, shoulder scales and a yellow laced cuff. The helmet was Tarleton style, black leather with a bearskin crest and a white feather on the left side. The white breeches were worn with knee boots that had a tassel on the front. The saddlery was brown with a blue valise on the back that had white decoration on the ends and the initials UYC. This Troop was disbanded in 1802.
