Middlesex Duke of Cambridge’s Hussars, Yeomanry Cavalry

Mounted Private c1915

The service dress worn in WW1 was indistinguishable from other units but he has the regimental star badge on his forage cap. He has his sword on the off side of the saddle and there seems to be the muzzle of his rifle showing behind his shoulder which means that at this stage the rifle was kept on his left side. There is ammunition in the bandolier and on his leather waist-belt.
