Middlesex Duke of Cambridge’s Hussars, Yeomanry Cavalry

Officer’s Bit Boss 1871

This brass bit boss has Queen Victoria’s cypher and a Guelphic crown. The regimental title is MIDDLESEX YEO CAVALRY which dates it after 1871 when the regiment changed from Uxbridge Yeomanry Cavalry. In 1873 the uniform changed to a hussar style and it is probably at that time that the title changed to Middlesex Hussars. This means that the date is from 1871 to 1873.
