The Middlesex Yeomanry were titled 47th Signals Regiment, Royal Signals (Middlesex Yeomanry) from 1961 to 1967 and had this marching band. It was led by Staff Sergeant R L Miller in his capacity as Drum Major. He has the distinction of four chevrons on his right upper arm (not visible here, but seen in another photo) The identity of the small boy marching behind him is unknown to me. The uniform is green no.1 dress tunic with Royal Signals badge on the collar, and blue trousers for the band. The bandsmen have red tripes down the sides of the trousers whereas the Drum Major and small boy have gold stripes. The forage caps would be green with a red cap band, and the Middlesex Yeomanry badge. |
