Trooper Thomas Lee


Trooper Lee came from St Leonards-on-Sea and joined 34th Company IY. He fought at Senekal on 25 May 1900 but was one of those that was forced to surrender. He was taken prisoner and kept at Nooitgedacht where his health suffered. After his release he worked as a cook for the Company until 9 Nov 1900, but he caught a chill at Clocolan on 2 April 1901, and at Ficksburg he died of enteric fever on 15 April 1900.
