| The gun team in this painting dated 1893 shows the moment that all gunners and drivers dread, when a draught horse takes a tumble. The details of the harness are very well shown. The colour of the valise ends agrees with the print of the gun team resting. The gunners on the limber are normally to be seen sitting side by side but here they are uncomfortably back to back with valises taking up much of the seating space. |
