Anglo-Persian Oil Company Staff Being Entertained by Persian Chiefs


The APOC staff did much to placate local tribes and local leaders - much to the frustration of the central Persian Government which resented being removed from the distribution of largesse. This would become an enduring criticism of the British presence and lead to long term resentment towards the concessions from the elements of the Central Government at least.
