Formal government did not get off the ground until the late 1880s. The development of infrastructure and the whole administrative setup which you see here was thus all achieved in probably less than 60 years. I have marked in only those Districts which I served. You will see that there were six Provinces; and there were forty Districts. I have also marked in Kisumu and Wajir, both of them places mentioned in the text. |
