Cawnpore Massacre

This picture could well be an engraving showing the murder of General Wheeler and his group of survivors from the only boat that really got away from the carnage at Sati Chowra. On being brought back to Cawnpore, the men were to be separated and slaughtered. However, Mrs Harris and her child 'volunteered' to die with her husband. Other women tried to shield their husbands but to no avail.
