Replenishment at Sea


This painting by Charles David Cobb shows the Royal Navy moving supplies between ships. Without a secure anchorage after Ascension Island, the Royal Navy had to constantly move food, stores and troops from ship to ship as they prepared and then supported the invasion force and patrolled the exclusion zone.
