13th Hussars

Captain Innes c1870

The rank of captain is shown not only by badges on the collar at this time, but by the braid decoration on the sleeves. The Austrian knot is traced around with circular swirls of russia braid. The busby has a fuller plume than the later style shown in the photo of Lt. Baggallay. In 1900 the 13 inch egret plume was changed to a 15 inch ostrich feather with small vulture feathers at the base. His sabretache is the final version (see sabretaches).
