Museum Exhibit of Officer's Uniform (left side)

The white leather gauntlets cover the sleeve ornament which is probably a double Austrian knot for the rank of captain. The lace pattern on the blue breeches is difficult to see but looks as if it is not correct. The front of the shabraque has the VR cypher and crown embroidered on its blue cloth, and the black sheep-skin has faded to brown but has the scarlet scalloped cloth edge intact. The sword has been placed the wrong way round in the steel scabbard so that the hand-guard is facing backwards. The sword knot is the correct one for the 7th, being black and gold. The stirrup leather has a regimental slide just above the stirrup.
