Pathan 1910

In summer the regiment wore lightweight khaki service dress with black puttees. The gold stripes on his sleeve are for good conduct. His rifle is carried on the left side although it is not clear how it is supported. This watercolour by A C Lovett was published in George MacMunn's Armies of India and the title of the illustration states that this man is a Bangash (Pathan).
