Officer, 1908

By this time the 'Zouave ' style tunic has been replaced by the more British type. The crimson sash is now worn round the waist instead of on the left shoulder. His medals include the Order of British India, 1st Class. the medal for Egypt (1882-9), with the clasp for Suakim, the Khedival Star and the India medal 1895-1902. The four bars on this would be Relief of Chitral, Punjab Frontier 1897-8, Samana 1897 and Tirah.
