Officer's Shako Badge 1856

There are two types of badge worn by officers in the short period between 1856 and 1861 in which the light dragoons wore tunics and French style shakos. This pattern is a finer version of the badge worn by all ranks of the regiment and has a gilt rim to the Maltese cross bearing the Peninsular and Sikh War battle honours. The other version has no edge and no battle honours.
