2nd Life Guards

Officer's Bridle

A page from one of PW Reynolds' copious notebooks with a fine colour sketch of the pattern used by the 2nd regiment. The browband is white and the headpiece is made up of gilt plates decorated with silver acorns. Where the two meet is a gilt and silver garter star. The bridoon rein (the lower one) is black leather. This is changed to red morroco leather covered on one side in gold lace when the officer is in gold kit.
