Officer's Pouchbelt, 1829

Taken from a contemporary military artist's notebook, this shows that the pouch used in full dress by the Blues at this time was a form of undress pouch, by which I man that they did not replace the 1814 version with an embroidered design as the Life Guards regiments did, but used instead a black patent leather one with a gilt oval badge bearing the royal coat of arms. The pouchbelt is the pattern used today (see: Officer's pouchbelt - final version).
