Officer's Belt-plate 1830-47

When the officers' lace changed from silver to gold, the belt-plate was redesigned so that the silver devices were placed on a rectangular burnished gilt base. The crowned laurel wreath surrounds the regimental number inscribed in Roman numerals. Below this are layered the battle honours granted up to 1825. These are TALAVERA ALBUHERA VITTORIA PYRENEES NIVELLE NIVE PENINSULA. The honour for ORTHES was not granted until 7th June 1847 so is not included.
