Glengarry Badge, Other Ranks 1874-1881

This brass badge conforms to the style of badge worn by infantry regiments of the British Army on the undress glengarry cap and is more likely to be the later of the two versions. The Queen's Crown is the standard type and the garter strap is inscribed HUNTINGDONSHIRE, a title that disappeared in 1881 when the regiment amalgamated with the 70th to become the 1st battalion East Surreys.
