Officer's Shako Badge 1844-1855


When the Albert shako was introduced in 1844 the badge was altered to this gilt design which has 18 as the central device with the Sphinx of EGYPT above the circular motto, the Maid of Erin harp below, and the new battle honour CHINA with the dragon beneath. This honour was awarded on 12th Jan 1843.
