Disbandment


The photo taken on 12th June 1922 in St George's Hall at Windsor Castle shows the laying up of Colours of the Irish regiments that were disbanded on 31st July 1922. The Royal Irish Regiment came to an end after 238 years loyal and hard service. The other regiments were; The Connaught Rangers, The Leinster Regiment, The Royal Munster Fusiliers and the Royal Dublin Fusiliers.
