The Warwickshire Regiment

Officer's Helmet Badge, post 1901

The blue cloth-covered dress helmet for home service was decorated with this badge on the front. The King's crown dates it as being after 1901, but the basic design was used since the helmet came into use in 1878. The antelope is silver with a gilt crown and chain around its neck, placed in the centre of the garter on a black velvet ground. It has straight front legs but earlier badges show one leg raised.
