Captain G. F. Hood, 1901



This photo is taken from the Navy & Army Illustrated of 1901 and the caption states that Capt. Hood was the first of the British contingent to enter Peking at the time of the Boxer Rebellion when the 7th Rajputs were sent on an arduous march to relieve the ambassadors. He made his way into the Tarar city by means of a sluice gate.
