Travelling by Ship in the British Empire

M.S. Boschfontein, c1956

Motor Ship Boschfontein sailed under the Holland Afrika Lijn and sailed from East Africa and called into Southampton on the way back to the Netherlands. It had actually been used as a troop ship by the USN in WW2 in the Pacific theatre. Shortly after these photographs were taken, it was converted fully into a cargo ship.
