Mervyn with Swedish crash landed aircraft at Marsabit

During my time in Marsabit in the 1950ss, a light aircraft piloted by a couple of Swedes had crash landed in Marsabit some distance from the boma.. There were no casualties, but the D.C. later brought the men in for interrogation. They towed the battered plane to the boma and parked it near my government quarters. In the background on the photo are 44-gallon water drums. Water, a real luxury in those days was rationed as there was no piped water supply in the boma.
