The Black Prince


The Black Prince used Plymouth as a base of operations during the Hundred Years War. He launched his expedition that led to his capturing the French King at the Battle of Poitiers from Plymouth. The picture shows the French King surrendering to the Black Prince. The Black Prince brought his captive back to Plymouth before taking him to London and placing him in the Tower of London.
